The Victoria Mill is Open!

Photo credit :Walker and Walker Photography

Well here we are after having been opened a week! It's been a long few months and a lot of hard work with everyone trying to transform this fantastic building into something for many of Bridlington and beyond.

It has been so lovely to meet many new faces and seeing friends and family also popping by for support.

We was also featured in the Bridlington Free Press which was great!

Whether you just want to start your day in somewhere relaxing (if your me, brownie and a hot chocolate) The Victoria Mill has something for everyone.

It has been great to hear people's opinions of the transformation. Although we have had a few people still looking for Tonys Textiles :)

So inside we have a continuation of The Priory Menswear...

Tiger Lillie's Bath and Beauty products...

The Brew Mill...

And little old me :)

The Victoria Mill is open week days Monday to Friday till 5pm and Saturdays 9-5.30pm! Pop in and say hello :)

We hope you like it! Enjoy!

Exciting Times Ahead For Bridlington Businesses!

Do you live in Bridlington? Have you wondered what all the rubbish outside Tony's textiles has been about? All the hard work and building work that's been going on? Well now its time to find out!

Tony's Textiles of Bridlington has now departed and the Victoria Mill now has some new residents. Some very excited locals of Bridlington with developing businesses!

Tony's Textiles may have ended like this....

But it is now developing into something much more.....

The Priory boys started the ball rolling with an expansion of their shop of two years on Manor Street.  With a successful website online, and brands developing it is now the perfect time for the team to expand and more space was much needed. With The Victoria Mill on the shops doorstep is a great venture!

The building work has started, with some heavy sanding on the floor and walls, its all set to go go go, to get the place in shape for the lovely residents of Bridlington and beyond.

The Priory isn't the only local business getting involved. Have you heard of Crema Espresso? Award winning Oakley Wheelwright, owner of Crema Espresso is also moving in! If you need that early morning wake up call! Its going to be the perfect place to pop down. Why not have a coffee while you browse a new outfit?

So ladies? are you wondering what's in this for you? No need to worry... while your other half is browsing the menswear, you too can taste Oakley's blends, or why not check out local Jennifer Holdsworth's arrange of organic beauty products. Jennifer is also from Bridlington joining this new venture and bringing to you some new brands that are yet to be seen locally in Bridlington. So fear not ladies, maybe if your partner is treating himself, he might treat you too.

And... I am also excited to be having a small space inside the mill. Which will hopefully the corner space on the right hand side in the photo above. I'm very excited to have another place to share my work to the locals of Bridlington.

Well that's it for now. I will keep you up to date with more progress very soon! There still lots of hard work ahead but everyone is working so hard. I'm sure, fingers crossed it will look fantastic once it's ready!

Pretty Snow Pictures!

We have all mainly had a lot of snow recently in the UK. So I thought today I would share some of my favourite snow pics from this year and last year.

This time last year I was on a work placement at Christopher Farr, London. So I was lucky enough to experience the snow in London. Hyde park was absolutely stunning! Here are a few photo's I took whilst exploring. It felt like Narnia, very enchanting.

This year I have experienced the snow at home. Again, it was just as lovely. Being cosy at home with the family and new addition Dylan!

We had lots of fun in the snow. We live next door to the lovely countryside. The fields were covered in fresh snow waiting for us to come and play in. Dylan seemed to enjoy it, although it was very deep for him. I wonder if thats all the snow we will get for this year?

An Easy way to get a Black Bath!

With my printing skills at hand I have been printing brown paper bags for the shop The Priory with their logo. Starting from scratch I produced a Koda Trace then exposed a screen from home and there you go... off I went printing.

It is alot harder printing onto paper I find than fabric but I still love screen printing anyhow. When the weather was bad I was having to wash my screens out in the bath which was very messy with black pigment. Now with the lovely week of sunshine I have been able to do it outside. Thank god!

Using my tote bags I also printed them a couple of samples of totes they could use in the future. I think they look rather good myself.

Welcome to The Priory in Bridlington!

The Priory is a fab new menswear shop which has just completed its first week of business in Bridlington! Named after the towns iconic church, it has been a year in the making by three local guys and is definitely what this town needs! Brands they sell include.... Edwin, Fred Perry, Religion, Penguin, Carhartt, Clae, Weekend Offender and Lee just to name a few. If you live locally it is a must visit when you come to Brid! Below are a few snaps of the shop I took.

They also have a selection of fab antiques which give it a great quirky/retro feel.
For more info on the shop please like their FB page: www.facebook.com/thepriorymenswear

Thanks :)

New Tote Pictures :)

Since being back from London I have been quite busy. Along with putting together screens and Koda traces for new designs, I have been using some imagery I already have. With my favourite two birds (above) I have experimented with a new colour way, and below I have also used my mirror imagery in metallic gold on a black tote. I do love screen printing!

Combined with these beautiful antiques I borrowed from the new clothing store The Priory opening in Bridlington, I am really pleased with how they look. Hopefully, these could be available in the Folio Shop @CCAD very soon too.

I hope you like :)
