So... last year I produced these little tote bags using my imagery from one of my fashion modules, I really loved my two little love birds and thought they would look very cute on some simple tote's. The tote bags are now on their way to the Knitting and Stitch show in Harrogate so I'm feeling a little nervous as I've never tried to sell anything before. I also tend to get quite attached.
These are a variety of some of my drawings from my minor project, I focused mainly on florals and the natural surroundings, in which you can see in my photographs in a previous post.
Tonight I have been busy sorting my fabrics and started dying them. This picture shows a basic cotton which I have started with to test the dyes. I am really pleased with how bold and vibrant the colours have come out. I have also chosen a dark brown dye as a contrast to the bright tones.
The main focus for my visual research came from Glasgow, I especially loved bumping into the beautiful Heron on a walk in the sun. I also visited MayBeck near Whitby. This was on a rainy day but brought out another little piece of wildlife- creeping out of some bark. I think nature is a great form for inspiration and fantastic to draw. I also visited the Botanical Gardens regularly which were another great source and had such a wide variety of florals!
I really love decorating my bay! It was the first thing I was looking forward to when back at uni! Can't believe its my final year, and nearly November already! Time is going fast.. too fast!
So its been the end of 2nd year for awhile now and its quite sad to leave and scary to think I only have one year left!! Above it a picture of my bay before I had to take it all down and leave my bay all empty...sad times!
With it being easter holidays i had to take the majority of stuff from my work bay at uni home so it is very bare!..... this was my work bay from my first module, i really loved this trend as it was so bright and vibrant and i had alot of visual imagery!
This is my end of year show from my foundation course were my love of print began, this was in 2008 which seems so long ago! But was such a fab year for me!
Made these Mario and Luigi eggs for the CCAD egg competition, was fun until Luigi fell off and smashed! Good Times!
Had a really fab time last week in Paris! Went to Premier Vision and Indigo. Was fab to see the college stand, shame none of my work sold :( nevermind ey! But was such an inspiring place to be!
