So... last year I produced these little tote bags using my imagery from one of my fashion modules, I really loved my two little love birds and thought they would look very cute on some simple tote's. The tote bags are now on their way to the Knitting and Stitch show in Harrogate so I'm feeling a little nervous as I've never tried to sell anything before. I also tend to get quite attached.

Crafty Computer Paper Competition 2010!
I had a go at entering the crafty computer paper competition with some work in which I had used their product it was as simple as that but didn't win anything... oh well its still best to give things a go! I entered work from my last module in second year which was also for furnishing fabrics with the theme of 'things british'. Based on a previous trip to London my imagery included the typical sights of London such as the black cab, red bus, Big Ben etc. Above is my digital printed samples I entered.
From drawings to Finals!
It was alot of long days and hard work in the print room but after 8 very fast weeks I have my final collections for furnishing fabrics. Some have more in their collection as I planned but I felt it would be a waste to put them in my development book when I was really pleased with how they turned out. Below are a few pictures I hope you like them.

Colour Palette!
Tonight I have been busy sorting my fabrics and started dying them. This picture shows a basic cotton which I have started with to test the dyes. I am really pleased with how bold and vibrant the colours have come out. I have also chosen a dark brown dye as a contrast to the bright tones.
Minor Project!
The main focus for my visual research came from Glasgow, I especially loved bumping into the beautiful Heron on a walk in the sun. I also visited MayBeck near Whitby. This was on a rainy day but brought out another little piece of wildlife- creeping out of some bark. I think nature is a great form for inspiration and fantastic to draw. I also visited the Botanical Gardens regularly which were another great source and had such a wide variety of florals!
