New Home Love...

I have nearly been in my new home for two months now, I honestly don't know where the time has gone. Unfortunately this means its about time I take down my new home cards off the mantle piece. Boo :( I received some gorgeous cards, I am lucky to have such great friends. So, I thought I would share a few with you.

First up it this gorgeous design by Vicky Trainor with this little floral arrangement. Its such a simple design and on a white back ground just makes you admire how utterly gorgeous it is!

I also got a selection of cards from designers I aren't sure of, here are some more of my favourites.

Birds and keys play a common factor, the keys to the door springs to mind and I guess when you get your first home you could be classed as "love birds"...... Awwww!

I love the cute illustration on this one, particularly the smilie sheep. This would be my dream home in the countryside though I definitely can make do with the home I have :)

Lots of hearts and lots of love, again more cute illustrations. I think the simpler the better. This simple illustration with the sequin detail is ideal! At uni I never was any good at the gift modules, but I have always loved getting gorgeous greetings cards. They still inspire me :)

Thank you to everyone who sent us gorgeous cards and gifts!

I also wanted to completely change the subject and sneak in a little picture of my vegetable patch! I never thought I had green fingers but judging by this photo I must be doing something right.

Dylan does like to dance on them occasionally if I aren't looking. So far I have planted onions, potatoes, carrots, spring onions, strawberries, runner beans, and I also have the three trees which were already planted. Can't wait to see the results I will keep you updated!

Bridlington Vintage Fair!

What a gorgeous day in Bridlington it was this bank holiday Sunday...

With the sun brought lots of people and Bridlington's Vintage Fair. I have never been lucky enough to visit before due to work commitments so was so excited to be able to go at the weekend. However maybe that is a good thing as I did buy a few bits and bobs :)

It was great to see everyone having fun at the Seaside, from live music outside to vintage cars, to even more vintage delights inside the luxurious Bridlington Spa.

Live music played a part inside with many dancing along to the familiar songs being played. I loved seeing what people had brought for sale. As I grew up living with my grandparents I found myself spotting various items they have had themselves. Look at this box of watch faces, this looks so gorgeous as it is.

So what did I buy...

This gorgeous floral umbrella I couldn't resist. It reminds me completely of Cath Kidston. I think it could easily be used in the sun for some shade and definitely in a down pour.

With festival season I couldn't resist these vintage levi shorts, embellished with some vintage lace. Dylan also looks like he likes them too. I'm glad he hasn't got his hands on them he would definitely like to chew the lace!

I also bought these two gorgeous felt hats! Absolute bargain at £20 the pair. I do have a habbit of buying things in various colours. Why not! They are gorgeous!

Saving the best till last.... my favourite purchase was the gorgeous 60s sewing table. I am always on the look at for items for my new home, whether I have a place for it or not! I couldn't resist this item and when the seller reduced the price I thought it was fate! I went ahead and bought it straight away.

So if you haven't guessed I had a fantastic time! Spent a little more than I imagined but it was worth it. I'm hoping to seek out some more vintage fairs! And be at some fairs myself :)

Festival Season...

The festival season is quickly approaching and many of our high street stores are showcasing their best festival buys. I thought I would share with you some of my favourite pieces.

TOPSHOP

Its all about the folk and tile prints with Topshop. Gorgeous blue hues and burnt reds. They remind me slightly of the tile designs you see at the turkish baths. The ever popular denim shorts are also appearing  in their masses. I have a fair collection myself. I think I would be in trouble if I bought any more :)

I have bought a couple of bits from Topshop I will share with you when they arrive. I myself is very excited to be going to a festival this year... Glastonbury! Eeek. Not sure who is my favourite I want to see but it would be rude not to see Dolly and Blondie?

MISSGUIDED

Florals are always a big hit for summer. This year we are seeing loads of cute dresses and playsuits sporting this trend. Especially the daisy print!

Also this year we are seeing the statement Kimono, with or without a fringe. Your certainly going to turn heads wearing one of these. Again, we are seeing many gorgeous prints. I'm not sure if I'm brave enough to wear one myself but they are beautiful. I think I can see Dylan being driven wild by the fringe!

ARK

Another trend we are seeing everywhere is co-ords. I especially love this piece I found on Ark which is also supporting the floral trend with this lovely sunflower print. There is so many to choose from, please check out their website.

The bum bag is also a festival essential, never worry about having to hang on to your handbag swinging about everywhere, totally loving this aztec black and white design.

RIVER ISLAND

River Island is always one to watch with its bold and bright prints. The colours on both these pieces are so striking.

Cath Kidston

This tent immediately caught my eye! How fantastic is it! I'm not sure how my boyfriend would feel about this tent though. It reminds me of the Wendy houses you used to have as a child, but one for grown ups. So fun!

Another favourite from the Cath Kidston collection is this cute floral print hightop. Although if it rained I would be sad if these were covered in mud :)
