Hornsea Leisure Centre. 4/8/13

Last weekend I was at Hornsea Leisure Centre with many other traders from around the East Riding of Yorkshire. It was a lovely summers morning and I haven't been to Hornsea for ages so I was glad to visit the small coastal town. I got my stall set up and off we went! I spoke to a variety of lovely people which is what I love about doing these events.

My Mr Duck cards all flew to new homes. He certainly has been very popular this summer with everyone. People say its his eyes and the way he looks at you! The little charmer.

I am also so pleased with my vintage ladder. It is so fantastic to display my tote bags from. I am rather in love with it!

My next event is still to be confirmed but it could be in September. I shall keep you posted :)

Brid Bay Knitters Celebrating Turning One!

Well, we've made it to one year old! Brid Bay Knitters joined last night for a celebratory tea and some yummy cake. It was a lovely evening and to see the group grow from just three/four of us to nearly a dozen of us is fantastic.

I had been looking forward to my tea all day and was very excited to see these fabulous cakes when I arrived. This one above looked so realistic and almost too beautiful to eat. I am so glad we did though as it was chocolate inside and so yummy! (I'm also glad I took an extra portion home!)

We also had another cake too! Yes! Two cakes. I loves the icing on this one. It reminded me of making spaghetti with playdoh as a child.

It was a lovely evening full of chit chat and laughs. I am looking forward to learning more techniques this year and hopefully become more advanced than a beginner.

If you live local to Bridlington your more than welcome to join. You don't have to be great at knitting there is plenty of people to teach you.
The next session is on the 24th April 6pm-8.30pm at Seabirds in Bridlington.

Still Knitting!

Some of you may have seen on my FB page I have mentioned that I've been going knitting crazy. On a wednesday, every fortnight I go to Brid Bay Knitter's Knitting Club, held at Seabirds in Bridlington. We was approached by one of the ladies who attend whether we would like to be part of a project she is doing through till September.

This task included producing a scarf in a basic knit, using camouflage wool, 4mm needle, 50 stitches and 45 inches long. When the scarves have been produced they are going to the soldiers in Afghanistan. As a basic knitter myself I thought this would be a great project for me to practice my knitting, and its also for a fantastic cause.

So far I am at 25 inches, I aren't as fast as the other ladies who seem to get one done a week, but I will keep you up to date with my progress.

Beat the Weather With Knitting Club @ The Waterfront!

This is what it looked like outside! but inside it was getting very creative and YUMMY!

Last night I went to the new knitting club at The Waterfront Coffee Lounge, Bridlington! I haven't done knitting for such a long time, possibly years and it was great to get my needles and wool out!

The club is going to be every fortnight starting at 6pm. Its a great way to catch up whilst learning a new hobby and getting crafty (and eating cake) .
